The unique upper design of these AR15 Upper Receivers loads from the top and ejects downward through the AR-15 mag well. The new generation upper has a stronger lighter and more streamlined rail; finished with a beautiful ultra-smooth melanite black coating. Convert your AR-15 type rifle to shoot the same 5.7×28 ammo as the legendary FN P-90 PDW This AR57 Upper is constructed with a steel barrel muzzle brake bolt carrier group buffer and screws all built into an alloy monobloc receiver. In other words it is ready to drop in and push pin. It is also built as solid as a tank. A single block of Aircraft Grade 7075 T6 aluminum referred to as Kryptonite Monobloc and rated at 83000 PSI strength is used for the receiver and its component rails. Precision milled to within.002 tolerance this upper is chambered in 5.7 x 28 mm. The barrel is 16 inches with a perforated muzzle brake attached on 1/2 x 28 threads making the overall length 18 inches; the bore is six groove right hand 1:8.5 FN twist. The sight system is a 13 slot Picatinny over the operating handle with 3-slot upper and lower forward rails. The metal parts including receiver rail barrel and bolt are melanite treated for a hard durable finish. Bolt is made from 8620 alloy. The receiver and rail block measures just over 17 inches overall length; from the receiver back to the muzzle end the total length is 24 9/16 inches. In contrast to many other receivers there is no gas system to become clogged with carbon or fouling; the chamber stays clean well beyond extended shooting. Extremely reliable simplicity is key with the free sliding bolt being the only moving element and its easy removal makes maintenance literally a snap. The AR-57 system ejects spent rounds through the lower’s magazine well. Does not include the magazine. It was developed due to end-user demand for an M-Lok version of our Finger Stop for Picatinny rails and features a slim front-to-back profile and slight radius across both faces. The Indexer can be used in a variety of ways but the main intent is to place it between two fingers (usually index and middle). This typically places it further forward on the handguard which also means it doesn’t get in the way when transitioning to kneeling or prone shooting positions where most people move their support hand towards the rear. Used in this manner the Indexer makes it much easier to pull the rifle into your shoulder and maintain control while shooting. $49.99Griffin Armament Suppressor Optimized Buffer, Black, Small, ARSOB. The reciprocal and non-reciprocal weights are similar to the A2 rifle length buffer. In conjunction with shock dampening brass weights the AR-SOB offers increased system dwell time reduced bolt speed and enhanced chambering reliability. Through integration of a shorter platter of CNC machined weights and a telescoping buffer head the AR-SOB has more controlled motion tolerances allowing precisely controlled timing and forced sequential impact of buffer weights interacting with the rifles operating system. The AR-SOB weighs 4.9 ounces and can be used in suppressed 5.56mm rifles as a replacement for the M4 carbine series buffers and also in 308 carbines as a replacement for H2 and H3 buffers when used in conjunction with the AR10 mil-spec CAR receiver extension and AR10 CAR action spring. The buffer is one of the more overlooked components in most rifles. In the current market cost constraints and a desire for rifles to run with cheap underpowered steel jacketed ammunition are driving forces for many firearms companies who are involved in what appears to be a constant race for the bottom. Most rifles are aggressively overgassed and supplied with cheap light CAR buffers which are employed to reduce system cost robbing rifles of necessary weight for reliable chambering with fouled chambers and encouraging premature unlocking of the bolt causing undue extraction stress contributing to operational failures and mechanical failures of critical system components. Suppressors further increase system operating speed and exacerbate the over-gassed condition. An AR-SOB will work to resolve these issues by allowing a carbine to run similarly to the original product improved M-16A1 Sturtevant rifle length buffer despite the reduced internal length of the CAR receiver extension.
