$13.99A-Zoom Action Proving Dummy Rounds are CNC-machined, made of hard-anodized aluminum, and exact replicas of rimfire cartridges. A Zoom dummy rounds are perfect for checking functionality, and training new shooters. The distinctive blue color enables a clear visual of the dummy round when you do cylinder or chamber press checks, too. When at the range live firing, you can place the Snap Caps randomly into a loaded magazine to practice malfunction and clearing drills in a semi-auto. They’re handy in other repeating rifles and handguns to determine if the shooter is pulling the shot by jerking the trigger or flinching, letting them begin breaking those bad habits. Dry firing a rimfire without a dummy round can damage your firing pin, and many firearm manufacturers expressly advise against it. Because of this, it’s best to store your rimfires with a dummy round in the chamber and the firing pin resting on it to preserve the firing pin spring and ensure safe storage. For this same reason, they’re also ideal for transporting your firearm to and from the field or range. You can find them in the most common rimfire calibers like 22 dummy rounds (in.22 LR or.22 WMR).17 Mach 2, and.17 HMR. These training rounds will load and/or feed in all rimfire rifles and handguns.
