The Egyptian Maadi RPM is a fascinating AK-47 variant that emerged out of a collaboration between Egypt and the Soviet Union. Produced by the Maadi Company for Engineering Industries in Cairo, this rifle is a product of Cold War geopolitics, manufactured with the assistance of Soviet technicians who helped set up the production facilities. As a result, the Maadi RPM bears a striking resemblance to the Russian AKM but incorporates unique elements that make it distinct.
